I came across the article a few weeks ago - about how a group of dog walkers fixed up and maintain this spot in Capitol Hill - Congressional Cemetary. As I was reading said article it gave a synopis of famous people buried there - John Philip Sousa, J. Edgar hoover, DC's notorious madam, and a slew of Congressman (obviously). Now what a person had to do to be buried there is beyond me, but it is one of the oldest cemetaries in the United States. They have family crypts and some modern day tributes. I found it beautiful - I picked a perfect day to stroll amongst American ancestors. I am always funny about being in graveyards - I love it, but hate to step all over people if you know what I mean. And although we love the dog walkers for fixing the place up, they are now allowed to walk their dogs there all the time - I found it a little disturbing that the dogs just ran loose and pooped and peed on everyone's tombstones - I mean would you enjoy that if you were dead? All that aside, I found it to be one of the best laid out cemetaries with little paths and little highlighted tours for all to see. For further information http://www.congressionalcemetery.org/
