Philadelphia
Still waiting on pictures from Christine, but here is a brief synopsis of my trip to Philly. First time there. Christine is from around there and some comp days were coming to us both for Cinco Day Mayo Week. We drove to her parents house On thursday and decided to get up and spend the day treking around Philadelphia. We took the train in which was a new experience for me since I have METRO. We met up with my friend Michelle who proceeded to drive us to the Park Hyatt Philidelphia and there we took a tour of the hotel. I would still be interested to see the rooms, but it was defintley a nice hotel. It has a weird set up - you have to go all the way up to the 17th floor floor to check in then get on the elevators that go to the guest rooms. The offices were on the 16th floor (I think those are the right floors!). We also saw the ballrooms. We decided to go get something to eat and walked down South Street - I decided to go to the place where Larry Stooge was born (can't quite remember the names) and get a philly steak sub (should've saved my $). It wasn't very good and the service was slow. Christine and I said good-bye to Michelle and her girlfriend at that point and headed to see the colorful stores of South Street. Because it was my first time, I made Christine take me tot eh Liberty Bell and Indenpendence Hall. I wasn't too fond of any of the city I had seen until that moment where we were walking on cobblestone paths and were passing old churches and houses. The minute we hit Independence Hall I was in love. For those who know me - I love the revolutionary times and my obsession with John Adams, the Decleration of Independence has peaked since I first saw the musical 1776! I was bummed because we couldn't get tickets to go inside since they were all out, but I can picture it in my head and that is good enough. We then took a tour of the Liberty Bell and the Visitor's Center over there. I know there was still a lot I didn't see, but all in all it was a good day! We concluded it by meeting up with Christine's friends for drinks and best part - we went back to the Park Hyatt for FREE drinks!
