#38 - Try Speed Dating

People hear the word Speed Dating and start laughing, but I think its always something I wanted to try ever since I saw the movie Hitch. I was looking online at events in the area and saw a posting for a Speed Dating and Bring Your Friend night - so I thought what the hell? i talked my friend Christine into doing it with me and after work one night we headed down to the district to check it out. We were right on time and when we got there, I thought WTF as the room was filled with one guy and a bunch of females. Christine and I looked at each other and said - are we in the lesbian section? They ended up waiting until more guys were there to start and as the guys were each coming in I was like - nope, nope, defintley not, etc. We then began. It was supposed to be two on two, but as the guys were slim pickings, they had to go one guy per two gals. Christine and I had our lines down pat - so, is this your first time? Ours too! To say that we met some interesting people is to say the least. We met this one guy whose nephew jsut had his bar mitzvah at our hotel and some guy that talked only about himself and wouldn't let us get a word in edgewise. There was a French guy, military guys, etc. As you can imagine - characters right out of the movies. Not Prince Charming though. The four minutes flew by for some and for others not quick enough. At least it was good for some laughs.
