Tour Number Two took place on April 29th with six fabulous women, three vineyards, several glasses/bottles of wine, and one picnic (sans basket).
Wine season is upon us - that is what I said to my two roommates as I gathered them together on that Sunday morning. We stopped off at Wegman's (my favorite place) where I proceeded to buy a cooler, water, chicken salad, tuna salad, coleslaw, croissants, and a bag of chips so that we could enjoy a nice picnic among the vines. We next went to the hotel where we met up with Christine Probst, Akilah (our CMT) and her friend Brandy. Next came the drive to Middleburg (where I had never been) and to our first stop: Chrysalis Vineyard. It was beautiful - the wines might not taste great in Virginia, but you can't knock the views. We then took pictures while we waiting for our tasting and got acquainted better with those we didn't know. Then came the tasting - and I tasted and tasted. The Norton was my favorite from this winery (the Viognier wasnt bad either). And they were right - it would make a fantastic sangria wine. Next came the food and the picnic and the sun.
Next stop on Wine Tour - Swedenburg Winery.
Last stop on Wine Tour - Loundon Valley Vineyards, where I am still in love with their Reserve Chardonnay.
