Happy Birthday to Me Part I

My office mate Tamara helped me to accomplish Goal Number 30 - Own a really good entertaining platter. It was funny - you have to know Tamara to really appreciate, but she loves giving gifts and we go out all the time to make gifts for people. She was out getting a going away present for our Front Desk Manager when she saw the perfect gift for me. She gets back and I am sitting at my desk and she is very excited. She tells Juanita and I - you won't ever guess what I found. Then the next thing I know she starts unwrapping this large object, then looks at me before it was revealed and said, Katie, why don't you see? And so, not ever suspecting anything, I was pulled aside the paper and saw this really fantasic platter. It was bright and colorful and has little hearts hanging of trees - with the expression of Love Comes in All Colors. And I was like - Tamara, this is so nice, what is it for? And she was like - do you like it and I said of course, and she goes good, because its your birthday gift! So then I got super excited because I got to take the platter home with me! And best part is that I get to use it for my birthday party this weekend - because yes, folks, I am throwing myself the ultimate sit-down dinner party. I have invited 14-16 people that I actually like out here over to my house (still trying to figure out tables and chairs) where I am preparing them the ultimate gourmet feast. I even asked everyone to bring me a bottle of something instead of a birthday gift, so we will wait and see. That way - everyone can have stuff to drink. And for Goal Number 85 I have bought myself a red cocktail dress! Its very sophisticaed and grown up too - not low cut like everything else I own. It reminds me of perfect dinner hostess cocktail dress and I can't wait to put it on. The only thing missing from my party are the family and the dearest friends left behind in the Midwest.
