Get a job - nah nah nah

In case someone missed the reference in title (its a song from the 50s).

Well, its official. Actually, it has been since the 8th of January, but I didn't want too jinx it. I have a new job - with the Hyatt hotel corporation- corporate world, here I come - as a corporate management trainee (CMT) for short specializing in the catering department. The goal is that I will one day be a Director or Associate Director of Catering with all that other stuff in between it. I flew out to Fairfax, Virginia this last week to secure a place to live and get introduced to the staff. I am going to love it. The city is great - just big enough for me tot get used to, but not overpowering. Very upscale and clean. Everything is all located in one location, so I will only get lost five or six times in that first week. the hotel is huge - 316 rooms. http://fairlakes.hyatt.com/hyatt/hotels/ - Just look.

Its very relaxed and laid back atmosphere. And they gave me a fruit plate in my room - I was very excited! Plus put my sister, my mom and I up for two nights. It is just going to be perfect for me - I can tell. I will miss everyone in Michigan and let's face it, if I didn't have to leave, I wouldn't, but opportunities don't come like this. I start out at 35,000 with full benefits, relocation, 401k, tutition reimbursement, etc. I will hopefully get the opportuniity to work overeseas and master a second language - that would be fun. And I want to go to Chicago for graduate school, so here's looking forward to a bright future - until the food network hires me or I am ready to teach and consult with Joe. Be on the lookout for more adventures - 2006 - the year of change.
